Tips for Entering Equations

  • Exponentials: Use exp(...) for expressions like \( e^x \). Example: z = exp(x) - y
  • Logarithms: Use log(...) for natural logarithms (base \( e \)). Example: z = log(x + 1) + y
  • Trigonometric Functions: Use sin(x), cos(y), etc., as they are written. Example: z = sin(x) + cos(y)
  • Example Equations:
    • For \( z = e^x - y \), enter: z = exp(x) - y
    • For \( z = e^{-(x^2 + y^2)} \), enter: z = exp(-(x^2 + y^2))
    • For \( z = \log(x + 1) + y \), enter: z = log(x + 1) + y
    • For \( z = \log(x^2 + y^2 + 1) \), enter: z = log(x^2 + y^2 + 1)
